Summer sale...it's ON

This has officially started on the 11th June, but some stores / brands have started it days earlier (early bird catches the worm theory?)....Yes, to a certain extent that might be true. For example, poor people like me, who only have a certain limited amount to spend, would probably start spending on items on sale which tempted me first...and would stop after my threshold limit is reached...:D

Anyways, here are some pics taken last weekend when I went on a window shopping trip to Dubai Mall....This is the Manolo's store in the mall (below pic), where most items were on half price...too bad that this store only had shoes for women (think Manolo started the men's line in 2008 and you can get Manolo Blahnik's for men at Saks 5th Avenue, but the range is very limited and personally I think the footwear is hideous, seriously ugly!! But I don't mind if someone wants to get me a pair!)....Hahaa...

Oh btw, I read somewhere that Louboutin is gonna introduce the men's line too soon. That'll be very interesting to see men's walking in shoes with Louboutin's signature red soles...i'd probably have to get one, if i can break my piggy bank and the loose change is enough to buy a pair that is!! :)

Mission: failure to take off...

I decided not to go ahead with it, as my friends told me that i might get into trouble here!
so mission aborted! LOL

On a mission....

Dubai is known to many as the glitzy and rich metropolitan city, buzzing with fun filled activities, where the rich come to play! Well, i'm not gonna say that isn't true, but today, i woke up thinking about the lives of the other half of the city, living in desperation. (I actually woke up to the noise of the construction site next door, where a new apartment tower is being built. They start work at 5.30 a.m. OK!!!) and i decided to feature some of these "other side of the coin" story.

Feeling tired….

I completed my first year in DXB recently, well to be exact on January 13^th, which is last month….after my stint in Bahrain for slightly more than a year.....

How do I feel about it? Quite honestly, despite the hype and pomp attached to previously-barren-now-legoland-lookalike, and all the glamour (albeit delusive!!) that comes to mind when its name is mentioned, I somewhat despise it. (I considered taking "somewhat" out of the sentence, but "despise" is the right word..)

Some ppl say that I shouldn't be saying this and I should be thankful for this place has given me the opportunity (and some moolah too! Tho I wish constantly that it could be more…:)….

Hopefully , change is on the cards for me…I almost have enuff of DXB now….honestly on the brink of mental breakdown!!! LOL

Don't know precisely when it will happen, but surely it will one fine day not far away, and the sooner it is the better for me!!!
I hope it will come soon…VERY SOON…
